I started around
Christmas time and finished to this stage in March.
I'm planning a removable cabin/pilothouse as per
your design, however I wanted to first see how she
handles without a cabin. |

 |
Everything seems to be fine, the 60hp motor is
plenty of power and she planes very easily with
three good-sized men on board, I feel confident she
will handle a cabin/pilothouse arrangement with no
problems, I was originally planning to build the
cabin this coming winter, but may go ahead and start
it now.

The construction of the
hull went very well with no problems encountered, I
modeled her after my Cackler "Olive Oyle" and used
some of the same design ideas, I am very pleased
with the results.
Some other features are:
-
Side console with
centerline helm seat
-
2 portable six-gallon
fuel tanks
-
60hp OMC w/trim and
tilt
-
Bronze hardware
-
Ipe bowsprit and
mooring bit
-
Ipe rubstrakes and
rubrails
-
4-circuit 12V electric
panel
-
Bilge pump and switch
-
Kirby paint over
W.E.S.T epoxy

The construction of the
pilothouse/cabin is made out of 3/8" okume plywood.
I tried to keep the weight to a minimum, it weighs
around 140 lbs. so two men can lift it on and off
with little effort. Six rubber hold down straps and
four 1/2" bronze bolts hold it onto the 2x4 mahogany
coaming, mating surfaces are rubberized.
