Jim, at age 65, worked
through the long hot summer months of Key Largo,
Florida on his new boat. On December 5, after 10
months and 900 hours of work, he launched "Suzan B".
This was Jim's second boat building project. His
first being a small Ken Hankinson design to get the
experience he thought necessary for a larger
project.
Several design alterations
were made to this Winter Wren including a self
bailing cockpit, an aft lazarette with hatch access,
and a folding mast.
Congratulations Jim, on a job well done.
"Sam, many thanks to you for designing such a fine
little boat. She sails like a little witch. She
handles beautifully. And I can tell you this,
everywhere she goes, she gets admiring comments from
all who behold her."
