Welcome to Devlin Designing Boat Builders!
There's a sense of pride and joy that comes from owning and operating a
wooden boat. It's knowing that each piece was lovingly hand-assembled by
a skilled craftsman. This is a feeling you don't get from a boat that
was poured out of a mould at some factory. Every line in the design has
a purpose and a form to accomplish only one simple goal -- to take you,
the owner, to a new level of joy.
- We can build it for you.
-- We've been building fine wood/epoxy boats for over 30 years. We
have the equipment and the skilled craftsmen to carefully craft and
hand assemble a boat customized to your requirements using an
existing design of ours or one created from scratch.

Devlin designed boat right for you? And

- You can build it yourself. -- Most of our boat
plans are designed for the do-it-yourselfer. There are many
advantages to building a Devlin boat yourself.

- Why wood and epoxy? -- We've been using wood in
the marine environment for decades and we can unequivocally say that
wood is the best choice.

and glue construction.
To better understand the “Stitch and Glue” boat
building method, we have produced a Video/DVD “Wooden Boatbuilding with
Sam Devlin” and published a book “Devlin’s Boatbuilding” on the subject. These
were created to help those with the desire to build their own boat.

What's New
-
May 30, 2008 -- I am leaving for a boat
delivery of the “Ellie K”, one of my
Kokanee 38 boats, up to Alaska on the 1st of June and should
be back in the office on June 23. The shop and office are still
open for normal business but my e-mails might not get answered
for the duration of the trip since e-mail service is kind of
lacking up North! Lee has pledged to man the phone from 8 to 10
AM Pacific Standard Time, Monday - Friday, to take your orders. -- Regards, Sam
-
Trawler Fest -- May 22 - 25, 2008, Anacortes,
WA. Sam and our
latest Sockeye 45,
the "Widgeon",
will be in attendance at the Cap Sante Boat Haven in the Port of
Anacortes.

May 16, 2008
-- More Oysta 52 drawings have been added to our Drafting Table
page. Click here to see the
pilothouse and lower level.
- April 7, 2008
-- After many years of fine
service, our webmaster, Joel Mill, is stepping down from the
daily duties of running devlinboat.com to a simpler life of just
working in the shop and having some spare time to spend with his
family.
In the next couple of months you
will see many changes and we hope you will continue to enjoy
devlinboat.com with its new look and feel. We are going to
rebuild our web-store and the shopping basket will be enhanced.
In the interim, and during this period of change, I would
encourage you to place your orders either by phone directly or
email your order to me at
samd@orcalink.com. I can take credit cards and please
include your full credit card number and address, phone
information with these orders, and remember that you can call me
directly at 360 866-0164 or leave a message and I will call you
back. It should be just a short time till we get the new store
built and I thank you for your patience during construction. --
