Catboat Conversion to a Motor/Sailer

Started:

Completed: August 2004

Type: Sailboat

Originally a Ted Brewer design, this catboat will have a pilothouse added and a two foot stern extension.

(before photo)

The transom is cut off and the pilot house dryfit.

Butt blocks are installed to support the new stern and the pilot house is glued in place.

Deck beams are installed ant the pilot house roof is added.

A bulwark is going to be added to this boat, so we made a mold along the sheer out of 2X6's and laminated three layers of 1/2" plywood together to get the desired thickness.

The bulwarks are dryfit and then removed and the new construction is primed prior to painting.

All painted and ready for rigging and hardware.
