This cruiser has been produced in 27, 29 and 31 foot versions and is currently available in the 29 foot version. The interior consists of a large private cabin forward, separate head and shower compartments, spacious galley and dining area, and plenty of storage throughout. The dual-prop Volvo diesel outdrive provides a top speed of 29 knots. This boat will cruise for 450 miles at 18 knots.

Here we go again with another excellent design from the "genius of Olympia,"  Sam Devlin:  The Black Crown 29. A development of the popular Black Crown 17, the new 29 was essentially stretched in the stern by 24" and the freeboard increased by 3", while the overall heights were left the same. In other words, a longer hull for a more balanced bow profile.  

Standard power aboard the Black Crown 29 is a single Volvo Penta AD 31-41 sterndrive, available in 132 or 200 hp versions.  With the latter, cruising speeds are in the mid-teens, with a top speed of 21 knots.  

Like all Devlin designed and built boats, the Black Crown 29 is built out of high-grade African mahogany plywoods with high-tech epoxy construction. So you get the best of both worlds: modern state-of-the-art construction with the feel, look and smell of a real wood interior.  

As for the interior, there are quite a few changes in the layout as compared to the Black Crown 27.  A centerline companion door now allows an enclosed head to port and a separate stall shower / hanging locker to starboard. The galley and inside helm station are still to starboard, but now there's a convertible dinette to port. Up in the bow there's still that inviting double bunk. Finish throughout is, in one word, exquisite.  And you just have to know this boat is built right.
